Total Garry’s Mod playtime - I have currently logged 567 total hours of game play on Garry’s Mod. This gameplay includes both online gameplay and offline gameplay. (If evidence is required just ask)
Total ‘Casual Gaming’ playtime - I have currently logged 20 hours and 14 minutes of gameplay within the Casual Gaming Community. I was amused and equally stunned to find how laid back and accepting the staff are on this server. I have played almost every DarkRP server on Garry’s Mod and have not found one as cool and tensionless as the Casual Gaming Community, this is a huge congratulations on your part for actually understanding the community of which you are a part of. This is also the first server I’ve ever seen, as I expressed for ten minutes straight, where the Owner and Developer have actually been on and met members of the great community of which they have established.
Total in-game money - $500 Dollars
All known aliases - Michael Munro
Previous Staffing Experience - Like many Gmod Gamers I seek the position of admin on all servers who will have me. Many servers do not accept me due to the lack of logged gameplay I have with them. I finally found an owner who was willing to take me on board and logged over 50 hours of admin gameplay and personally believe that I worked with supreme accuracy and provided positive vibes within the server. As an admin I was required to fulfil many of the roles that are required within the Casual Gaming Community. These included; providing accurate information to users who were unfamiliar with the server rules, treating all members of the community with equality and respect, ensuring no favouritism or discrimination, general admin duties (ensuring all rules are followed, banning those members who cause trouble for other members or admins) and providing adequate feedback to the owners and co-owners on the performance of their server and community.
I have also recently been accepted as a staff member within the Australian Gaming Community, a marvellous server all in all. Within the Australian Gaming Community I have logged 96 hours of ‘admin on duty’ gameplay and only 14 hours of user gameplay, as I was accepted when I was only new. Like the Casual Gaming Zone, the Australian Community is only very new and although I am new to the community myself, I play Garry’s Mod every single day and focus my time on ensuring the community is exactly how the Owner and Co-Owner would like their server to be and I ensure their number one rule ‘Have Fun’ is enforced. I have made many online friends through my position as an admin, many of whom joined the Casual Gaming Community with me and have also logged 3 hours of gameplay. Although Garry’s Mod is only a game, I do take my position as admin quite seriously and do adhere to the rules. If you require a reference from the Owner or Co-Owner of any of the above servers do not be afraid to ask as they are on standby ready to assist.
Previous Experience with ULX - Regarding ULX, the server I was accepted as admin on also made use of Ulysses (ULX). ULX provided the admins and all officials of the server with the ability to exercise authority and in game help through the console menu and in game ‘Out of Character’ chat as well as the Faadmin ‘tab’ tool. ULX allows an admin to kick and/or ban a member who partakes in gameplay that voids the rules set by the owner and co-owner. Considering Casual Gaming Community rules, ULX also allows an admin to use the ‘warn’ tool rather than banning them, as a deterrent to further misconduct. On my previous server I was able to not only punish players but also reward players who helped an admin. ULX allows an admin to spawn weapons and adjust the money count for a player who has been involved in an irregular event or who has experienced difficulties while being randomly arrested or randomly killed. Basically ULX is a powerful tool that awards an admin the power to enforce the rules of the server, as set out by the owner and/or co-owner.
Why I believe I should be an admin - I’ll begin by outlining that I know the rules of Garry’s Mod RP. I am aware that the rules may vary by server, however there are a key set of rules that constitute the make-up of an RP server. I am against RDA, RDM and mic spamming 100% of the time. I personally believe in giving three warnings to offenders before kicking them from the game. If they return and break the rules again I believe that they deserve a ban. I give three warnings because I respect that some people may have been killed by RDM and are upset and that people have bad days and want to go crazy. I also respect that the community at large do not want to be involved in fail RP and so I believe banning members who will break the rules is an adequate measure. Another key factor that I believe would make me a good admin is that I do not believe in favouritism and I support anti-discrimination. Although someone may annoy the community on a given day, that does not mean they are a bad person for the rest of their days. I am willing to forgive people and will not hold grudges against rule breakers. One key point I’d like to make is that I will follow the server rules 100% whether I believe they are correct or not, because this is respecting the wishes of the owner and co-owner.
Furthermore, I follow the virtue of service, that is, in service of the admins and in service of the community at large. I will lend my time to the community to better their Role Play and will at all times lend a helping hand to those who need it, be it the owner, co-owner, fellow admins or everyday players. I will assist any member of the community who requires assistance and will provide the server with the professionalism and respect that it is deserving of. I will act as a communication tool between the players and the Owner and make recommendations on ideas that both work and fail to work. Although Gmod is only a game, the role of admin is more than a player, it is to take on the role of a higher member in the Casual Gaming Community. It is to become a person who can enact leadership skills and provide players with entertainment and a source of authority when someone else breaks the rules. Admin is not merely the ability to be higher than anyone else and abuse the powers you have been given but the ability to represent the Owner and Co-Owner in a respectful and professional tone.

Questions and Answers
1. A Person is threatening to crash the server, what do you do? Initially the responses from various people will be different. Although threatening to crash the server is a serious threat, I do not see it as an excuse to permanently ban someone just because they have threatened it. I will always initiate communication with the person and try to reach a reasonable conclusion. I would ask them why they feel they should do this and what caused them to feel this way. Despite the thought that permanently banning someone who threatens to crash the server will ultimately save it, this is not the case as an average DDOSSER will simply obtain the server IP and continue with their crash whether we like it or not. I believe compromise and communication with this person would lead to the best outcome. In the end, if the person fails to comply they are better off permanently banned and their steam ID will be referred to the Owner.
2. A person calls you and claims someone RDM’d them but they have no proof, what do you do? As an admin I spend nearly my whole day looking at the logs. The logs will show whether someone was killed or not and who killed he or she. If the logs show that he or she was correct and they were killed for no reason, such as a gun dealer killing a citizen, then I would alert both players that they will be teleported to my position shortly and then I would proceed with the teleport. Upon their arrival I would ask both parties individually what was the reason behind the kill. Communication is the best response to hostile actions and in most cases the RDM will be sorted out. In the case that the RDM cannot be sorted out, he or she who did the RDM would receive a warning, despite their reason, unless of course there are witnesses who say that the citizen tried to steal the gun dealers weapons without calling raid.
3. A person is prop climbing into someone’s property, what do you do? My initial response to each rule breaker is always the same. I open up communication with them and find out why they are breaking the rules. If they are unaware that they are breaking the rules then I will kindly supply them with the link to the server webpage and briefly explain the general ideas and general rules behind Dark RP. If the rule breaker is just that, a rule breaker, then I will give them a warning for prop climbing.
4. A person is mass RDA’ing or RDM’ing, what do you do? In the case that a member of the community partakes in mass rdm or rda, I will freeze them using the ULX menu, fly to a roof and teleport them to me. I will then ask them why they did it, give them two separate warns for each offence and then ban them if it is deemed necessary.
5. Do you have any knowledge of Dark RP? Dark RP is a less serious form of the role play game type within the Garry’s Mod universe. Dark RP allows a player to take the role of certain jobs and experience what the other life is like. For example a nerd in real life can become the mob boss in game and learn, through a game, what it is like to be the top of the food chain.
6. What is RDM and provide an example of it. RDM stands for ‘Random Death Match’ and is when someone kills another member of the community for no good reason other than that they are a minge. For example a Mayor kills a hobo for sitting on the street.
7. What is NLR and provide an example of it. NLR stands for ‘New Life Rule’ and occurs when you are killed in game. It means that when you die you start a new life and forget everything that happened in your previous life, such as those who killed you and where you were raiding. NLR generally exists for a time of 5 minutes.
8. What is Meta Gaming and provide an example of it. Meta Gaming is a series of strategies used by an external factor to affect a person’s game play, usually to their own advantage. For example the police arrest a thief who adverted raid on the pretence that they adverted their raid. The police used the external factor of the advert to pin point the person who committed the crime. In theory the police, as in real life, cannot arrest the thief without adequate proof of the committed crime.
9. What is self-supply and provide an example of it. Self-supply is the act of supplying oneself with the goods that they sell in order to affect their game play to their own advantage. For example a gun dealer spawns weapons for his own personal use, or buys them, changes to thief and then equips his weapons and uses them under the guise that he purchased these guns from an external gun dealer.
Agreement
By submitting this application I understand all of the server’s rules and what is to be expected of me. I also understand that if I do get accepted and I am caught abusing I will be banned and moderator status will be taken off of me. I also agree that no matter the situation I will sort it out and not just leave in a rage. I will not perma ban someone just because they are harassing me. I also agree to not swear at players and treat them unfairly. I also agree that asking mods+ to comment on my application or telling players to look at it will put it in risk of a lock and deny. I also acknowledge that the agreement can change at random and I will still have to agree with it.
